Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation Limited (MPT) was incorporated on 20 January 1975 as a State Government company under the Companies Act, 1956. The entire paid-up capital is held in the name of the Governor of Madhya Pradesh.
The registered office of the Corporation is situated at Churchgate, Mumbai. Central Reservations operate from Apeejay House, Fort, Mumbai 400001.
Authorised share capital of ₹25 crore, with a paid-up capital of ₹15,38,88,100 (Fifteen Crore Thirty Eight Lakhs Eighty Eight Thousand One Hundred only).
MPT functions as a State Public Sector Undertaking under the Department of Tourism, Government of Madhya Pradesh, and operates the largest hotel chain in the State.
MPT works alongside the State Tourism Department and Directorate in conceptualising and executing tourism projects, publicity, promotion and training.
Profits from resorts are reinvested into properties to make them more environmentally responsible, preserving the natural habitat around every destination.
Mahabhraman and Bed & Breakfast programmes create livelihoods for host communities, encouraging self-sufficient and eco-friendly living.
Selected resorts and restaurants are operated through approved private operating partners under MPT supervision, at published government tariff.
